BASIC GAMBLING RULES : CRAPS
Alternative bets In Craps
Come bet/don’t come bets - In craps the
come bet is placed after the which you place after the pass line bet. To
place it you put your chips in the big square on the
craps board that
says “come”.
This bet is just like the pass line bet but can only be made after the point
is established.
If you set the point with a 6 and on the roll following a 6 is rolled you
win. If a 7 is rolled you lose. The don’t come bets are the exact opposite.
Place Bet - The
place bet is when you bet on any number 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 at any given time
during the game. This has to be done before a 7 is hit. The odds for these
bets are as followed related to the combinations of the dice. The more ways
you can make the roll with the dice the less money you get when you win. If
you choose to bet on 4 or 10 the odds are 9:5. If you choose a 5 or 9 the
odds are 7:5. If you choose 6 or 8 your odds are 7:6. In craps these are not
some of the more commonly used to bet because of the horrible odds that you
will win.
Field Bet - This
is a very simple bet in craps. For this bet you don’t even have to know how
to play craps. Its simple; all you have to do is make the bet, if the dice
value is 2,3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12 you win. If the roll is a 5, 6, 7, or an 8
you lose. That’s simple enough. If you roll a snake eyes in some casinos you
receive double your bet. If you roll a 12 you get 3 times as much money
back.
The Lay Bet – In
craps this is also another very unused type of bet. It is very similar to
the don’t pass and don’t come bet. The reason that they are similar is
because they all work against the dice. This is one of the bets in craps,
like I said earlier that most people don’t use. If someone is using it that
means that they think they know more about the game then they think they do.
Now the way this bet works is, after the point is set and the number has to
be rolled. Usually getting that number again will win. But with the lay bet
if you roll that 7 that usually kills you, you win.
The Buy Bet – This
bet is the same as the place bet except they offer a higher edge over the
house. The numbers you can choose from, like always, are 4, 5, 6, 9, 10.
When you choose a 4 or 10 the odds are 2:1. If you choose a 5 or a 9 then
you get a 3:2 ratio. If you choose a 6 or an 8 then the odds are 6:5. The
most commonly place of the buy bets is the 4 and 10 because it has the
greatest odds of winning.
Hard Ways - This
bet can be placed on a 4, 6, 8, and 10. the ratio is 9:1 on the 6 or 8 and
its 7:1 on the 4 or 10. the house edge is 5.55%
